An exterior and interior modeled after famous cities from around the world, amenities that rival Vegas, and 519,000 total square feet including more than 380,000 square feet of gaming excitement are just a part of the expansion project at what will become Oklahoma's largest casino. With the new look comes a new name. WinStar Casinos in Thackerville is now WinStar World Casino.

The name itself speaks to the new, but traditional theme - world casino. Five great cities from around the world will be highlighted at WinStar World Casinos, offering patrons a sense and spirit of adventure from a gaming, entertainment and cultural standpoint. Enter the new WinStar World Casino and be transported to the outposts of Beijing, London, Madrid, Paris and Rome, all under one roof.

The exterior of the building is designed by Lyndon Stromberg who is known for his work at the Venetian Casino and the MGM Grand Casino in Las Vegas as well as other major projects including the Atlantis Resort Paradise Island Resort in the Bahamas and Planet Hollywood in New York City. It will feature replicas of London's Parliament Building, Rome's Coliseum and the Arc d Triumph from Paris.

"The idea behind the WinStar expansion was to create a destination," said Brian Campbell, CEO for the Division of Commerce of the Chickasaw Nation. "Regardless of hotel rooms and conference space, we had to create the most unique, beautiful and dynamic casino space this side of Vegas for destination status, and we're doing that with WinStar World Casino - Oklahoma's newest destination."

Highlighting each city or gaming plaza will be a replica fountain from that city, an artists' reproduction in marble that will serve as a destination point, much like their counterparts do in cities throughout Europe and Asia. The hand-crafted fountains, will feature a minute-and-a-half water and light show every 15 minutes. Above each of these fountains hangs a hand-painted fresco depicting scenes from that international city.

But that's not all. Eight dragons of Egyptian crystal hang over Beijing, eight-foot high lions dominate London, and statues of everything from urns, to knights to a ship, and 12-foot high chandeliers are featured throughout the casinos of the new WinStar World Casino.

The WinStar World Casino expansion will double the building size of the gaming floor to 380,000 square feet, add 4,000 new electronic gaming machines, and feature a new 2500 seat Showplace Theater which will also be used for convention and meeting space.
