Marriott - Grande Lakes Resort
The JW Marriott at Grande Lakes is a 1,000-room hotel that sits in one of the country's most luxurious resorts. Surrounded by eco-tours, fly fishing and nearby world class attractions, this is a family's vacation paradise. The construction of the hotel was completed in 2002.
The hotel is crowned by a large classical cupola that identifies the structure immediately from far away. Stromberg manufactured the majestic cupola as we have been producing cupolas for over 30 years, in a wide range of sizes for structures built at every scale imaginable; from towering resorts like the Marriott all the way down to private residences.
The Stromberg cupola was manufactured from our Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). GFRC is an ideal material to match the look and feel of solid concrete or quarried stone. GFRC has the important advantage of being much lighter in weight to reduce stress of the structural integrity of a building while being just as strong as concrete (and actually resisting some weather conditions to a much higher degree). GFRC is a mineral that will not burn and comes with a higher tensile strength than steel.
