Greenville Sports Complex
The Greenville Sports Complex was a very special project because it was right in our own back yard. The facility includes lighted ball fields, soccer fields, a basketball court, lighted in-line hockey court, a football field, a fishing pier, pavilion, grill, picnic tables, walking trails; and a Kid Zone that was built by volunteers in a one week blitz build. The 18,000 square foot site includes scaled-down replicas of local historic buildings.
Stromberg was called on to provide sports-themed sculptures that mark the entrance to the complex. The sculptures include a mega-sized football, basketball, soccer ball, baseball and hockey sticks mounted on masonry pedestals. The sculptures are made from Stromberg's Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) which ensures that they will maintain their quality appearance throughout countless seasons of adverse weather and wear. Stromberg sculptures and statues are found throughout the world at churches, resorts, children's hospitals; wherever quality craftsmanship and the highest artistic standards are required. In this case, the sculptures are located where we ourselves can enjoy them on any given day.
