Coleman Coliseum
When it comes to the world of collegiate sports, there are not many names bigger than Alabama's Crimson Tide. Between 2005 and 2006, the University of Alabama needed elements for the façade of its coliseum in Tuscaloosa. When the new frontage went up, Stromberg's products went up with it. Coleman Coliseum is home to the school's basketball, volleyball and gymnastics teams and can seat up to 15,000 spectators. The facility is also used for a host of special events. Buildings that see this much use must be built with the best quality materials.
Stromberg's workmanship is highlighted in the cornice that lines the top of the coliseum as well as the panels which bear the school's logo right across the front door. All of these products were manufactured with Stromberg's Glass Fiber Reinforced Concrete (GFRC). GFRC is an ideal material for creating high quality outdoor accents for coliseums, stadiums or a whole host of other high-traffic facilities. GFRC successfully mimics concrete or quarried stone while being much lighter in weight than the original material. Though it is lighter than concrete, GFRC comes with a higher tensile strength than steel, extreme weather durability and is also fireproof. Stromberg is the industry leader in the production of GFRC products, so give us a call with your upcoming project. The biggest, most demanding customers in the industry rely on Stromberg Architectural Products. You should too.
